On August 26, 2026, Vadim Krasnoselsky met with Alexander Vataman, the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Abkhazia in the PMR, and Vitaly Yankovsky, the Head of the Official Representation of the Republic of South Ossetia in the PMR, in the office of the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. Vitaly Ignatyev, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR also participated in the meeting.

During the conversation, the parties noted the traditionally friendly nature of relations between Transnistria, Abkhazia, and South Ossetia, as well as their shared historical experience in developing of statehood and overcoming of difficult challenges.

Particular attention was paid to the significance of August 26—the anniversary of the international recognition of the independence of the Republic of Abkhazia and the Republic of South Ossetia.

Vadim Krasnoselsky congratulated the peoples of the fraternal republics on the anniversary of the international recognition of their independence, wishing them peace, stability, and continued development.

Vitaly Ignatiev noted the intensification of cooperation between Transnistria, Abkhazia, and South Ossetia. Specifically, the holding of a meeting of the foreign ministers of Transnistria, Abkhazia, and South Ossetia in June of this year, as well as the development of trilateral cooperation in youth diplomacy were highlighted.

Alexander Vataman expressed gratitude to Vadim Krasnoselsky and Vitaly Ignatiev for the opportunity to hold a meeting on a day of particular significance for the Republic of Abkhazia.

During the meeting, the Plenipotentiary Representative briefed the Transnistrian side on the current situation in the Republic of Abkhazia and discussed pressing issues of Transnistrian-Abkhaz cooperation. In particular, the dynamics of humanitarian and tourist contacts were noted, including the possibility of visa-free entry to the Republic of Abkhazia for citizens of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic holding Transnistrian documents.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on current issues of bilateral and trilateral cooperation, as well as prospects for its further development.
